The Yocum Institute for Arts Education has served Berks County for nearly a century, pivoting programming to meet the needs of our community. The impact of Covid-xix was met with another pin. The Yocum Institute, took on boosted expenses to mitigate risk, keep instruction artists and performers employed while providing unique arts opportunities for small groups besides as performances (alive and streaming.) Live Theater's ability to foster connectivity between the performers, the audience and the community cannot exist understated. The Theater Festival is a celebration of the return to theater! Join us this weekend every bit we bring to our community a celebration of stories of Friendship, Laughter, Dance and Music with 3 days packed with inspiring live performances and events!!
The Children's Theater Festival of Berks County is supported The Wyomissing Foundation, Berks County Community Foundation, Fulton Bank, The Stabler Foundation, Arethusa Designs, Reading Musical Foundation (RMF), The Yocum Family Charitable Trust and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

Barrio Alegría Presents: … Only We're Still Here!

Storytelling through dance. This community date project takes the shape of a movement theater performance. Using the framework of archetype fairytales, presenters integrate social justice issues to start and go along conversations in our community. The project builds a space for customs members to gain leadership skills, explore selflimiting beliefs, occupy spaces they do not naturally see themselves in, and build a better world.
…But Nosotros're Notwithstanding Here! brings the Three Fiddling Pigs into a new earth where they need to assistance a family unit dealing with work trouble, relationship bug, and customs resiliency. Local immature adults from beyond Berks County will bring together the creative person onstage to share their voices to uplift and remind and encourage united states of america all to bring and to be "something beautiful" in this world.
